June 21, 2022 @ 7:50 am - June 22, 2022 @ 12:00 pm
Babst Calland joins EUCI for “Green Hydrogen 101,” June 21-22, 2022. Green hydrogen, which uses renewable energy to produce hydrogen from water is attracting the attention of governments and businesses worldwide as it has been identified as an energy source that could help the world achieve carbon free economy by 2050.
Green hydrogen could supply our energy needs, fuel our cars, heat our homes, and be used in industries that have no economically viable alternative to fossil fuels and could revolutionize value chains in the energy industry.
This seminar will provide a primer on green hydrogen in the rapidly changing energy marketplace. It will cover the fundamentals of green hydrogen, how it is produced, stored, transported, its applications & use to its role in the future energy systems.
Attorney Gary Steinbauer will present “Examining the Current Policy Drivers and Incentive Programs for Green Hydrogen Projects” on Tuesday, June 21. The initial large-scale deployment of green hydrogen will likely be led by government mandates and the availability of incentive programs. This session will explore the state, federal and international policies, programs, and initiatives accelerating the adoption of green hydrogen by utility companies and discuss the following topics:
- Current decarbonization policy drivers and programs in several states;
- Emerging US federal initiatives and incentive programs – clean transportation incentives, blending hydrogen & natural gas, etc.; and
- Environmental justice policies potentially accelerating a move to green hydrogen.
