Attorney Jim Curry will lead the “Hydrogen Opportunities for the Natural Gas Industry” panel.  Hydrogen has emerged as a potential solution to address unprecedented decarbonization demands from investors, customers and governments. It has applications as a fuel, an energy storage medium and as a means to reduce carbon emissions from various industrial and transportation sectors. The natural gas industry is well-positioned to leverage its expertise and infrastructure to take a leading role on hydrogen. This session will provide listeners with the basics on hydrogen, its many potential uses, the legal framework of how hydrogen production, transportation and use are regulated, and how they fit within the natural gas industry.

Attorney Kevin Garber will lead the “Timely Considerations for Carbon Capture and Storage” panel. Stakeholders are more interested than ever in carbon reductions, and CCS is critical to meeting those needs. But significant challenges remain. This session will address the latest technical information, legal and regulatory obstacles, and business issues, including the status of Section 45Q credits in the U.S. tax code, related to CCS development.
