Understanding PFAS Training
June 22, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
Babst Calland joins the Marcellus Shale Coalition for its “Understanding PFAS Training” on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of man-made chemicals that include PFOA, PFOS, GenX, and many other chemicals that all contain fluorine. PFAS have been manufactured and used by a variety of industries for the production of many consumer products around the globe, including the United States since the 1940s. In recent years, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) have promulgated regulations, guidance and new maximum contaminate levels (MCLs) in an attempt to reduce the use of these chemicals and increase environmental cleanup standards. This training will provide a general overview and understanding of the chemistry surrounding PFAS-related chemicals while discussing sampling and analysis.
Environmental Attorney Matt Wood will present on “The Regulatory Landscape: Intersection of Federal and State Standards.” For more information, click here.
