The Women’s Initiative hosted a “Night on Broadway” networking event for the opening show of & Juliet at the Benedum for clients and Babst Calland women attorneys. The event included dinner and tickets to the show. Members of the cast also shared some “behind the scenes” insights followed by a Q&A session.

On March 8, in celebration of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, Babst Calland’s Women’s Initiative is partnering with TEDxPittsburgh and Radiant Hall in an event featuring the film screening of the documentary Street Heroines. A moderated panel discussion with local artists will follow with former TEDxPittsburgh speaker and Radiant Hall alum Njaimeh Njie, IIE-Artist Protection Fund Fellow in residence at the Global Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh Haifa Subay, and Pittsburgh Public Art Commission Member Anneliese Martinez. Street Heroines is an award-winning feature-length documentary celebrating the courage and creativity of women who despite their lack of recognition in a male-dominated subculture have been an integral part of the graffiti and street art movement since the beginning.

The Women’s Initiative, led by Carla Castello, hosted a successful ladies’ golf outing at the Shannopin Country Club on October 12. The event was very successful and well attended by many of our clients and women attorneys in the Firm. The event started with a stress-free group lesson, followed by lunch and golf outing with beautiful weather!
