Devlin E. Carey

Devlin Carey is an associate in the Litigation Group of Babst Calland. Mr. Carey practices in a variety of litigation practice areas, including commercial, energy and natural resources, environmental and employment and labor.
Background
Mr. Carey graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in 2021. During law school, he served as a Career Services Advisor for undergraduate students, a McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow and an associate editor of the Journal of Law and Social Change while engaging in a variety of pro bono and clinical pursuits, including Penn Law’s civil practice and mediation clinics. Mr. Carey also served as an extern in the Conviction Integrity Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and an intern in the energy unit of Philadelphia’s Community Legal Services. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice in 2020, earning a M.S. in Social Policy. He graduated summa cum laude from Saint Joseph’s University in 2014, earning a B.A. in English.
Prior to joining Babst Calland, Mr. Carey worked as an associate at a multinational law firm in New York City, handling a variety of real estate financing, acquisition and leasing transactions. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Carey worked as a high school and grade school teacher in both Chicago and Seattle.

Mr. Carey is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Carey serves as a volunteer attorney for the Neighborhood Legal Service’s Protection from Abuse Program.
