Michael Libuser
Areas of Emphasis
Michael Libuser is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Group who concentrates his practice on appellate law and complex commercial litigation. Based in Harrisburg, Pa., he represents clients in state and federal trial courts, with a particular emphasis on cases before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He also represents businesses, trade associations, and other clients in state and federal appellate courts.
Background
Before entering private practice, Mr. Libuser served as a law clerk to the Honorable Yvette Kane, Senior United States District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, where he drafted and edited opinions for the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third and Ninth Circuits when Judge Kane sat by designation in those courts, while also managing a substantial caseload on district court matters involving complex civil litigation, commercial contracts, administrative law, trade secrets, and various statutory claims. Before that, Mr. Libuser served as a law clerk to the Honorable Karoline Mehalchick, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania (then United States Magistrate Judge). He previously served as the Principal Law Clerk to the Honorable Jeanette Rodriguez-Morick, an Acting Supreme Court Justice and Judge of the New York State Court of Claims.
Mr. Libuser earned his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2012. There, he served on the Arts & Entertainment Law Journal and the Moot Court Honor Society and was selected as an Alexander Fellow, through which he served as a Junior Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael A. Shipp, United States District Judge for the District of New Jersey (then United States Magistrate Judge). Mr. Libuser graduated with honors from Stony Brook University in 2006.
Memberships and Affiliations
Mr. Libuser is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New York. He is also admitted before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Libuser is an active member of the Federal Bar Association.
